 The Middle Georgia State College Men's Basketball team is excited going 
into their final season as the "Warriors". Head Coach Scott Moe returns 7 
players from a 22-8 squad in 2011-12. With the addition of two transfers 
and 8 quality Freshman, the Warriors hope to have a strong 2012-13 season. 
The Warriors were picked 3rd in the GJCAA pre-season coaches poll. Moe 
states, "We have some solid experience returning, which is always a positive 
for any program, and our new players are a good group as well. So we are 
hoping for good things this season."

Leading the way of returning players is, 1st Team Region XVII stand out,
Shane Heyward of West Ashley High School in Charleston SC. "Shane will be 
counted on heavily to score, rebound and lead  us this year ." states Moe. The 
Warriors also return Terryhon Wright of Washington County H.S. Terryhon 
started 20 games as a freshman and will be counted on for his ability to
attack the
 basket,  defense and rebounding. Cortez Riley, of Perry High School, brings 
some experience from last season and has really worked hard this off-season to 
improve his game. Chris Wright, of Dublin High School, returns at the guard 
position and is a key to success this season. Moe states, “Chris really
shot the ball 
well last year and we need him to do the same this year." Coach Moe is 
counting on defensive stopper Earl Lawrence of West Ashley High School, 
along with Joey Harris of Bleckley County High School, and D'Angelo Johnson, 
of Richmond Hill High School, to give the team valuable experience at the
guard positions. 

The Warriors brought in two transfers to add more experienced depth to the 
roster. Quincey Bennett, of Effingham County High School, comes by way of 
Brewton Parker College. Also, Maurice Williams of Fayette County High 
School comes to the Warriors after playing his freshman season at Cowley 
C.C. in Kansas. Moe states "We have high expectations from both of these 
guys to be able to step in and contribute immediately." 

The Warriors have 6 new freshman signees they have brought in to compete 
for playing time. Devin Atkins, of Vidalia High School, brings with him a 
stellar high school career. Coach Moe expects his ability to score and 
create on offense to be a valuable asset to the Warriors. Roshaun Milline, 
of Baldwin High School, is also going to contend for playing time at the 
guard position. Guard Javaris Hooks, of Colquitt County High School, will 
provide some depth at the point guard position. The Warriors added 4 
freshman to help in the paint. Jonathan Thomas, of Sandy Creek High School, 
and A.J. Daniely of, Taylor County High School, will be called on to help at 
the center position. Chandler Watts, of Veterans High School, and Eddie 
Delegal, of Brunswick High School, will compete for time at the Forward 
position. Also, Jalen Brown, of Brunswick High School, will be helping out at 
the post position.

“The keys to success are making them all understand what we expect from them, 
and them accepting their roles. That is the challenge of the coaching 
staff." states Moe. “We look forward to the challenge, and hope for great 
things to happen in 2012-13.”

Warriors Start official practice Monday October 1st 2012. The first scrimmage will take place at Columbus State University on October 13th at The Cory Black Jamboree. Game times TBA.
