In order to connect to the Internet your PC has to be assigned an IP number. MGC Information Technology Services (ITS) has implemented a system that will automatically assign an IP number to your computer every time you turn it on.
In the interests of network security, before you connect to the residence hall network for the first time you must perform a one-time registration for your PC. This process requires that a browser supporting 128-bit encryption be installed on your machine. Most current browsers have this capability. You can follow the links below to sites on the web that will enable you to download a copy of a browser for your computer at no cost.
