USING ANTI-VIRUS AND MALWARE SOFTWARE
Utilize Anti-Virus Software
At all times, your computer must be actively running a current version of Anti-virus software with the latest updates. Do not run more than one anti-virus program at a time. If you have more than one anti-virus program on your computer, select the one you wish to use, and uninstall all other anti-virus programs. You should, however, also install anti-Malware software on your computer also. Should your computer become infected with a virus, it is your responsibility to remove the virus from your computer. When the virus protection software finds a problem, you must take immediate appropriate action to respond to that threat.
Cleaning Viruses and other Malicious Software from Your Computer:
- 1.After installing new software or using your existing software you should run the product update tool.
- 2.Next, run a full scan. This may take from several minutes to a couple of hours.
- 3.Finally, clean/remove any infections the software finds.
- 4.Remember that viruses and malware can infect a USB device. If you are installing new antivirus software use a cd.
