The Department of Chemistry currently offers a sequence of General Chemistry courses, a sequence of Survey of Chemistry courses, and a sequence of Organic Chemistry courses. The Department currently has three full-time faculty members and class sizes are usually small. All Chemistry classes have a lab each week and students often work in pairs during these labs. As a result, students working together are often able to explain to each other chemical principles taught in class that might otherwise have been left unclear to the students. The Department operates three laboratories in Dillard Hall and one laboratory in the Dublin Center. Student safety is always of utmost concern during labs. Every possible precaution is taken each week to ensure that the students remain safe while handling chemicals during labs.
