Possession or Use of Alcoholic Beverages
Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages on the campus of Middle Georgia College is strictly prohibited. Anyone found violating this policy is subject to administrative disciplinary action or prosecution by the Middle Georgia College Police Department. Consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages by anyone under 21 years of age, as well as furnishing alcoholic beverages to persons under 21, are violation of Georgia state law.
Possession, Sale and/or Consumption of Drugs
The illegal use and/or possession of controlled substances at Middle Georgia College is strictly prohibited by college policy, as well as state law. Anyone found in violations of local, state or federal controlled substance laws face prosecution by the MGC Police Department and disciplinary action by the Associate Vice President for Student Development. Middle Georgia College is in compliance with all requirements of the "Drug Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989".
Possession of Weapons
Possession of any type of offensive or defensive weapon on the campus is prohibited by College policy and is considered a felony by state law. Residential students may bring hunting rifles but they are to be checked in and stored at the MGC Police Department upon arrival on campus. When the student wishes to go hunting, he/she may come by the Police Department and sign the weapon out. Violation of this policy will result in the privilege being revoked.
