Two Year Program

The Middle Georgia College Air Traffic program was ranked Number 1 among new schools in 2007. Air Traffic students experience tower, terminal radar and en route radar operations in state of the art facilities.

Middle Georgia College is one of only two colleges in the nation with a live Air Traffic Control facility. Four year students have the opportunity to earn an FAA Control Tower Operator's Certificate in Eastman Tower.

The Air Traffic Control program faculty is comprised of 5 full-time Air Traffic Control professionals with a minimum of 24 years' Air Traffic Control experience; our faculty not only instructs students in air traffic, they also staff the college's air traffic control tower.

The Air Traffic Control program maintains 1.7 million dollars worth of advanced simulation equipment and operates within the national airspace system using cutting edge communications equipment.

Students in the two year degree program graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree. They also have the opportunity to bypass the first 5 weeks of the 15-week Federal Aviation Administration training program at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. Our graduates are propelled into a highly technical fast-paced career that will last a lifetime.

Students who anticipate taking flight or air traffic control courses at Middle Georgia College must be able to pass and maintain a class two medical certificate. For more information regarding this requirement, click here: FAA Medical Requirement
