Flight Technology (Airplane) Certificate Program

Program Description

The Flight Technology Certificate in Airplane program is intended to provide students with an introduction to the occupational area of commercial flight as currently understood and practiced by Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot certificate holders. Program graduates are to be competent in the general areas of communications, mathematics, and interpersonal relations. In addition, graduates are to be competent in the specific areas of flight navigation, aviation meteorology, aerodynamics, aviation regulations, instrument navigation, commercial pilot flight operations, flight instructional methods, and aviation instruction design.

Program gradates who obtain the FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with an Instrument-Airplane and Multi-Engine rating, and the Airplane Flight Instructor certificate with Single-Engine privileges will also be awarded a Flight Technology certificate.

General Information

During this one year program, students first acquire their private pilot's license, followed by an instrument rating, a commercial pilot's certificate, multi-engine rating, and an airplane single-engine land flight instructor's rating. Academics are stressed throughout the program, and flying begins within the first month. This program is offered as a full-time, day program. Some evening flight training is required.

Multi-Engine Pilot (Airplane) Mini-certificate Program Leading to FAA Multi-Engine Rating.
