![]() MIDDLE GEORGIA COLLEGE HOLDS 82ND ANNUAL COMMENCEMENT (Cochran, GA) – Middle Georgia College held its 82nd annual Commencement Ceremony at NeSmith Stadium on May 13. After a welcome from MGC President Dr. Michael Stoy, Charlie Agnew, the MGC Teaching Excellence Award recipient, gave the Commencement Address. Dr. Mary Ellen Wilson, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, led the presentation of the graduates and the awarding of the degrees. Michael Parkerson, the MGC Alumni Association President, presented the Outstanding Alumni Award to Mrs. Nylan Hinson and then inducted the graduates in the Alumni Association. Kevin Oni, a Student Government Association Senator for the Cochran campus, provided the Invocation while Matthew Chitwood, the Student Government Association Chair Elect for the Cochran campus, delivered the Benediction. There were 266 graduates, and 21 bachelor degrees were awarded. The ceremony was attended by approximately 2,000 friends and family. Graduates Marqutika Hill and Shantia Hill said they were both excited for graduation. “I’m glad to be done,” said Marqutika, who graduated in prelaw and political science. “I’m ready for it,” agreed Shantia, who majored in business, economics, and math. |
