Middle Georgia College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, 404-679-4501) to award the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management degree, Associate of Arts degree, Associate of Science degree and Associate of Applied Science degree.
Accreditation is the method by which the higher education community regulates itself; it provides for public confidence, institutional effectiveness, and the maintenance of standards. The transfer of credits among accredited schools is one of the benefits of this system for students. Every ten years, each college undergoes an accreditation review process. MGC is now in the first phase of its work for reaffirmation of accreditation in 2009.
