How to Teach in a Learning Community

Faculty who are interested in teaching in, or coordinating an event for, MGC learning communities should fill out the corresponding Proposal. Proposals must be submitted to the LC Chair by the third week of classes in the semester preceding the proposed cluster. For example, if you wish to teach a cluster for spring 2012, you must turn in your proposal form in the third week of the fall 2011 semester.

Proposals must have the approval of the respective Division Chair (signature required) to be considered by the LC committee. Faculty will be notified of acceptance in the fifth week of classes. A short informational meeting will then be held to answer any faculty questions regarding their participation.

A small stipend is available for faculty who teach a learning communities course.
